The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is an organization comprised of amateur radio operators who volunteer their time and equipment to help their local community, state, or federal government with communications in the event of a disaster or emergency.  The Scott County Amateur Radio Society is strongly associated with ARES, and invites anyone interested in serving their local community, state, or federal government in the event of a disaster or emergency to join ARES, and share in this important responsiblilty.  This is, after all, one of the primary missions of amateur radio.  To become a member of ARES, or for more information, contact Jim Flanary This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
